Display Software

Software incorporates local (on-site) displays management and monitoring features. This approach assures that displayed information is always up to date.

Local control, monitoring and reporting software is running in every Ampron display unit. Inside and outside temperatures, humidity, power consumption, ambient lighting. Failsafe feature is able to shut-down display or show pre-defined information if the communication with central server is lost or some fault situation has been triggered.

Operator Interface

Operators user interface is specifically designed in cooperation with the airport personnel who is using it on a daily basis. It is intuitive and easy to use. It has group of buttons with weather conditions and other warnings to display on a LED screens all over the airport.

The amount of buttons can be dynamically expanded or reduced. The system has the planning capability of the information to display. You may choose the timeframe, when the notifications will be displayed.

Administrator Interface

In administrator interface you may send free-form text to LED displays. In addition this is where you manage users and user rights and all the settings like adding new displays, change button pre-sets and other functions, also see or search the logs.

Mobile View

System has to be as flexible as possible. User should not be limited in choosing the favourite interface hardware. Therefore, we have taken extra steps to develop the UX/UI in a modern way so it would fit and be functional in mobile devices.

Display Hardware

We use only high quality verified hardware in our production. Display units are intended for use in harsh outdoor environmental conditions of Nordic Countries and 24/7 operation. The physical size is theoretically unlimited due to the cascading possibility and software architecture.

LED Display Units

For the light emitting part of the system we deliver mainly 16x32 LED Arrays. Different pitches can be P4; P6; P7,62; P10; P16 and P20. Single, double and full-color options as per request. SMD and DIP based technology usage as per request.

Our display unit design is one of the thinnest on the market. They look slick and are easily maintainable with quick access to the interior components.

Hardware Design

Display units are designed with high availability, minimum maintenance and lifecycle cost optimization as primary requirements. Units do not have any moving parts and all external connectors are at minimum IP67 grade.

We use high quality selected components in our design. MIL grade connectors are just one of the examples.

Our units are modular in design. May be upor downscaled physically adding or removing the components or modifying the control software settings. Contact us for details or specific requirements.

Overall Technical Description

Supplied system is installed on a deployable trailer, on which the screen displays the texts according to the operator's choices. The operator uses a web-based control software to operate the system. The web interface is available on a tablet PC and remotely controlled over 4G mobile data and /or WIFI.

Trailer Technical Specification

Trailer has plug and power outlet for charging batteries. Trolley power cord is a 50-meter extension cord mounted on a drum and suitable for use also at -30 ℃. The extension cords color is orange.

Trolley has weatherproof box for tools. Separate box is available for batteries and other electric or electronic devices. The boxes are easily sealable and openable. They are also easily accessible and handled.

System Specification

The system LED display area is at least 2000mm wide and 1000mm high. The elements of the screen are the full matrix LED elements based on SMD technology and in full color (16M). LED elements have a pixel pitch of 10mm.

Design of the display hardware meets IP65 requirements and can be used in the temperature ranges from -35 to + 50 °C. The body color is orange by default but can be anything that is fit for clients needs.

The display is attached to the trailer on a support structure. For easy maintenance of display or fast cleaning, display has quick front glass removal. The display can be controlled via web interface.

User Interface

User interface console may be any tablet computer. Size and model is selectable by the client. The user interface is accessible through the web interface.

The web interface works with the latest versions of all the most popular web browsers, including Internet Explorer, which is installed on Windows 7, 8, or 10 operating systems. The LED interface can be monitored from the user interface. If the error occurs, the control program displays a notification to the logged in user.

If the communication with the central server is interrupted, the screen automatically starts displaying the De Ice operator radio frequency. The interface has both an administrator and an operator user interface.


All user activities are logged and stored for at least six months.

The log parameters are:

— time stamp: day, month, year, hour, minute, second;

— activity: login , activation of the message, adding of the user;

— Value: the contents of the message when logging in to a user name, activating and deactivating the message;

— user name: user's login username;

— IP address: The IP address from which the change was made is logged.


Both Wi-Fi and 4G can be used for communication. There is also automatic failover between them in cases where either communication channel is interrupted or is experiencing technical issues. Wi-Fi connection is preferred whenever it is available and the connection is usable.

Administrator User Interface

The Admin Interface displays actions and error logs. All logged actions are visible only to the administrator.

Operators User Interface

The operator user interface is designed on the principle of - " less is more ", only the minimum that is necessary for the user to complete his work operations is visible. The user interface is easy to use.

The user interface displays the temperature, time and physical text displayed on the screen for the entire duration of operation. The input for time and temperature information is received from the airport weather information server. The displayed text depends on the user's choice and the status of the work process.

The operator can always press the Stop and Status.

Effects of these activities:

— The button "STOP" immediately suspends all physical screen text display and replaces all other text displays with CONTACT DEICE /de ice operators frequency/

At the center of the desktop there is a button that controls the text displayed on the screen. Depending on the stage of the process, the command description on the button changes.

LED Display Screens

The text displayed on the screen, the size of the images, the position, color, length, and other parameters correspond to the SAE AS5635 Aerospace standard. The final list of texts and visuals will be agreed upon with the Client during the development work.

Follow-me Sign System

The Follow Me Sign is a mobile LED display used as a visual guide for aircraft at airports. Pre-programmed messages—including follow me, stop, wait, left and right arrow indicators, and slow down—are used to direct aircraft to the right location on the ramp/apron. The display operates from the vehicle’s standard 12 Volt battery and can be easily installed and operated from the driver’s cab. We recommend a separate fused circuit.

Easy Usage

Basic messages are pre-programmed and can be selected usually with one keystroke. Each display is controlled by our controller with a built-in keypad. Customized messages can be easily entered at any time and longer messages will automatically scroll across the screen.
