Facts

For passenger traffic, the port operates regular liner connections to destinations such as Tallinn, Stockholm, Saint Petersburg and Travemünde, serving a total volume of 11.6 million passengers in 2018. Additionally, it is a popular destination for international cruise ships with 520,000 passenger arrivals in 2018. In terms of combined liner and cruise passengers, it overtook the Port of Dover in 2017 to become the busiest passenger port in the world.

Customer Challenge

Port visitors like truck drivers and passengers needed to be guided on a last mile of their approach to the ferry.

LED dynamic guidance boards had to be fit for purpose for the port and sea area. They also had to be easily manageable. Also to provide modern content and enjoyable user experience for the passengers.

Our Solution

We propose for this last mile wayfinding challenge combination of our Rugged DR and Compact DS models. Ferry passengers needs various important information at the various stages while approaching the gate where the tickets will be issued. This means various amount of information and in various format. For example at some stages it is enough to see only the logo or name of the ferry company, at the next stage it is important to know what number of gate to choose and so on. For this purpose we give the freedom for the customer to choose various sizes of the message boards to serve the specific needs.

We are responsible for the delivery, installation and service level support during the whole lifecycle.

Status

First delivery was done at the end of 2020, additional deliveries will take place during the 2021 year.
