Project
De-Icing Area Control System, Public Procurement
Location
Tallinn Airport, Estonia
Background
Aircraft Ground De/Anti Icing procedures are mainly for removal of any frozen or semi-frozen moisture from critical external surfaces of an aircraft on the ground prior to flight.
Airport wanted to move some of the deice operations to the dedicated pad, where the fluids drain into a special tank or reservoir and aircraft would be away from the busy terminal area.
Customer Challenge
Tallinn Airport wanted to improve their operations with some innovative solution. Move deicing operations away from the terminal and do it on a dedicated pad area. Improve safety by having less personnel around the plane while doing de-ice operations. Lower the radio frequency congestion.
Our Solution
We developed a solution that fits exactly to the Tallinn Airport expectations and even more. The solution has a lot of complex logic behind the scenes but for the end-user, it is still the easiest equipment to use.
Failsafe feature is able to shut-down display or show pre-defined information if the communication with the central server is lost or some fault situation has been triggered. Our display sits on a trailer that has a plug and power outlet for charging batteries.
The trailer has the weatherproof box for tools. A separate box is available for batteries and other electric or electronic devices.
Airport Safety Department was very impressed that we did the software user interface and hardware exactly as their expectation were.
Status
The solution was delivered at September 2018
