The challenge

The problem to solve

Tallinn Urban Planning Department needed to communicate live noise levels to residents and passers-by at a noise-sensitive location. The display had to connect to a certified noise measurement microphone, show the live decibel value, indicate whether the level was within permitted limits, and be understandable to both adults and children — including those unfamiliar with decibel scales.

The solution

What Ampron delivered

Ampron supplied a compact DS-960×640-P8 weatherproof LED message board connected to the certified noise microphone via Ampron's software communication protocol. The display shows the live noise level in dB, a colour-coded status (green = within limits, yellow = slightly above, red = above limit) and a visual smiley indicator to convey status intuitively across age and language groups. Delivered 2019.
