The challenge

The problem to solve

A powerboat race start display has to go where the start line is, not where the mains cable ends. For a floating start platform 100 metres from shore, conventional display infrastructure — mains power, fixed mounting, wired operator console — simply does not work. The official needs to trigger countdowns and flag signals from wherever the head judge's position is, often separated from the panel by open water.

The solution

What Ampron delivered

Ampron built a complete battery-powered starting-clock system: DS-family LED panel, Ampron C16L controller, RUT200-class WiFi/4G router, and a single-page operator web app that runs on the head judge's phone. The entire system runs from a 12 V car battery with no mains connection. Sequence logic follows UIM powerboat rules. The Veemoto control interface handles countdowns, flag signals, class icons and the checkered finish from the same screen.

Outcomes

Results

  • 22 race starts over two competition days without interruption
  • Full competition day on a single 80 Ah 12 V car battery — including hard RGB cycling load
  • WiFi operator control stable at 100 m range across both competition days
  • Complete off-mains deployment on a floating platform — no generator, no mains cable
