The challenge

The problem to solve

A public transport operator using Ridango's transit management platform needed to surface real-time bus arrival predictions on physical LED displays at bus stops. The displays had to update automatically on every prediction change and fall back gracefully when live data was unavailable.

The solution

What Ampron delivered

Ampron DS Series full-matrix LED boards were installed at bus stop shelters. The Ridango platform integrates directly with the Ampron API using the pull-model — displays fetch updated arrival data on every cycle. The integration was simple and seamless: Ridango's team used the standard Ampron API without custom firmware or proprietary protocols. The result is a rugged, reliable passenger information solution.

Outcomes

Results

  • Real-time arrival predictions displayed at stops — updated every 30 seconds from transit backend
  • Graceful fallback to scheduled timetable when live prediction is unavailable
  • Integration built by operator's own team using standard REST
  • Display uptime tracked via API — operators alerted to offline units
